Rock Island resident and Bangor, Maine native Everett Charles “Pat” Higgins, Jr., 66, was born Nov. 19, 1946 and died June 9 at Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.An auto body worker, United States Air Force veteran of Vietnam and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Everett C. and Helen Campbell Higgins Sr. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.Mr. Higgins was married to Anna Hennessee Higgins of Rock Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Patrick and Heather Higgins of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Michele and Brett Yamuguchi of Freeport, Calif.; three stepchildren, Bonnie Gutierrez of Viola, Shana DeRijk and husband Daisun of Memphis, and Seth Bernardo of San Francisco, Calif.; three grandchildren and one step-grandson; father-in-law, Joe Hennessee and wife Martha of Morrison, and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel with William Eversole officiating.
