Evelyn Nelson Rigsby, 92

Murfreesboro resident and Warren County native Evelyn Nelson Rigsby, 92, was born March 14, 1926 and died Sept. 24 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

A retired clerk with Your Tot To Teen Shoppe and member of McMinnville First Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late James Cecil and Edna Louise McGee Nelson. She was married to Arless Nolan Rigsby, who preceded her in death April 17, 2008. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son Larry Rigsby and sister Gladys Nelson Cantrell.

Mrs. Rigsby is survived by two granddaughters, Michelle Rigsby and Melissa Rigsby; two great-grandsons, Austin and Chase Todd; daughter-in-law Sandye Rigsby; sister Jo Ann Jones and uncle Allen McGee, all of Murfreesboro, and aunt Shirley (John) Douglass of McMinnville.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Mt. View Cemetery with Jeff Owens officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at High’s.
