McMinnville resident and Warren County native Essie Hillis, 88, was born Sept. 18, 1926 and died June 10 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.Retired from Formfit Rogers and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late H.J. and Sara Elizabeth Walker Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Junior Stanley, C.B. Stanley and Gentry Stanley; and three sisters, Roberta Brooks, Bernice Fults and Christine LaFevers.She was married to Kelly Roswell Hillis of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John Hillis of McMinnville and Stanley and Sandra Hillis of McMinnville; six grandchildren and spouses, Jason R. Hillis, Amanda D. and Tim Gann, Megan L. and Sam Patton, and Aimee L. and Ronnie Bielling, all of McMinnville, Karrie E. Hillis of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Ryan C. and Julie Hillis of Ontario, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
