Ernest Marshall Laws died December 19 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital.

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ernest Marshall Laws, 91, was born Nov. 14, 1925 and died Dec. 19 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.
A retired gospel preacher, a member of Oakland Church of Christ, and a United States Army veteran of World War II, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Bessie Clark Laws. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Frances Duncan, Beulah Gann, Edith Simpson, Edna Leech, Zelis Burks, Mildred Northcutt and Myrl Campbell; and two brothers, Harold and Omer Laws.
He was married to his wife of 71 years, Pearl “Billie” Rigsby Laws of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children and spouses, Sandy and Bill Haston of McMinnville, Janice and Tommy Rogers of McMinnville, David and Karen Laws of Manchester, Steve and Brenda Laws of Murfreesboro, Patricia and Tony Boston of Dunlap and Tammy and Tim Layman of Dunlap; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ with Freddie Clayton and Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at High’s.
