Mr. Ernest David Pennington, 76, of Morrison died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. 

He was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., served in the National Guard Army, was a retired technician of 38 years with Ben Lomand Telephone, a constable of the 3rd District of Warren County, a member of Smartt Baptist Church, and a minister serving churches throughout the county over the years - notably Barren Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Pennington was preceded in death by parents Ernest Orville and Sarah Elizabeth Farless Pennington, daughter Tina Renee´ Pennington, and granddaughter Brittany Danielle Goethe.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Nell Pennington, children Debra Nell (James) Vidrine, Tammie Lee (Kelly) Ross, Sharon Elizabeth (Tim) Whitmire, and Brandon David Pennington, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and aunt Betty (Danny) Sullivan. Several cousins, family members, and friends also survive. Thank you to the special nurses and therapists.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Paul Roberts will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. The Pennington family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
