McMinnville resident and Warren County native Doyle Houston Ferrell, 78, was born Jan. 23, 1947 and died Feb. 13, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.

A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, retired supervisor with Carrier Corporation and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Clarence Houston and Beulah Irene Sweeney Ferrell.  He was married Nov. 25, 1965 to Jewell Gail Martin who preceded him in death March 2, 2013.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Ferrell and Michael Lynn Ferrell.

Mr. Ferrell is survived by son, Dwayne Ferrell (David Deaton) of Antioch; sister, Wilma Jean Miller of McMinnville; aunt, Reba Dunlap of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Amanda Ferrell of McMinnville; niece, Bryanna Morgan; nephew, Jeremiah Ferrell and several other nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 22 in High's Chapel with Kevin McAdams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in White County with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.    Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at High's.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital c/o High's.
