McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Dorothy Earline McBride Bishop, 82, was born Sept. 4, 1928 and died Aug. 22 following a long battle with cancer.A retired employee of Genesco and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George Franklin and Illa Elizabeth Hillis McBride. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Lewis McBride and brother-in-law, “Dib” Clendenon. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and David Foster of Jonesville, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Carolyn Bishop of Morrison; five grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Rick Butler of Blackburg, S.C., Brent and Christy Foster of Athens, Jeffery and Georgia Foster of Leavenworth, Kan., and Tony and Ann Bishop, and Dionnea and Chad Stotts, all of McMinnville; eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Beam, Jacob Foster, Joshua Foster, Taylor Foster, Kyle Foster, Clayton Bishop, Zachary Burgess and Miranda Burgess; five step-great-grandchildren, Bradley Holden, Ricky Butler, Michael Butler, Madison Martin and Catie Dillon and sister, Mary Sue Clendenon of McMinnville.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in High’s Chapel with Curtis Gilbert officiating.
