McMinnville resident and Warren County native, Doris M. George, age 98, was born July 22, 1926 and died May 9, 2025 at her residence following a brief illness.

A homemaker and member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace Riggs Moore. She was married July 20, 1943 to Robert Paul George who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Luna, brothers, Clyde and Harold Moore and sister, Margaret Miller.

Mrs. George is survived by children and spouses, Jimmy (Emily) George, Ronnie (Barbara) George and Billy (Connie) George all of McMinnville; eight grandchildren, Christy Luna, Justin (Mandee) Luna, Clark George, Heather George, Chris (Carolina) George, Susan (Jason) Austin, Laura (Matt) Vandiford and Allison (Michael) Moore; twelve great-grandchildren, Maggee, Bennett, Mary-Ella, Terian, Thomas, Lucy, Luke, Grace, Weston, Kate, John Sawyer and Riggs; siblings, Edith Mathis of Madison, TN, David Moore of Chattanooga, TN, Polly Cagle of McMinnville, J.C. Moore of Tullahoma, TN and Madge Hutchins of McMinnville and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025 at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Greg Bowen officiating. Interment followed at Liberty Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation was held on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. No service or visitation was held at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-South Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Tennessee Kidney Foundation, Liberty Cemetery Fund or the charity of your choice.
