Dickie Wayne Kesey, 68, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born Feb. 16, 1952 and passed away July 31 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness.

He served 25 years with McMinnville Police Department, ending his career as Chief for 9 years. He was a TN National Guard veteran, a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, and the son of the late John and Zada Curtis Kesey.

Mr. Kesey was married to Lennie Ruth Smith Kesey of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Clent (Lynette) Kesey and Ryan (Lorie) Kesey, both of McMinnville, four grandchildren Brooke Kesey, Ella Kesey, Aiden Kesey, and Corbin Kesey, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Dewey Daniel of McMinnville, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County with Bro. Ray Weddington officiating. No visitation will be held at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bybee Branch Youth Group, 1165 Old Smithville Road, McMinnville, TN 37110. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
