David Wayne Burgess, 55, of South Pittsburg (formerly of McMinnville) died Sunday, Feb. 15 at Hospice of Chattanooga.
He was born Dec. 24, 1959 in McMinnville and was of the Baptist faith, a former nursery worker, and former pallet factory worker with Pro-Pack Inc. Mr. Burgess was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Hershel and Nannie Belle Mayberry Burgess and sister Cezillia Barrett.
Survivors include brothers, Lonzo (Lillie) Burgess, Harlan (Nina) Burgess, Carlie (Armanda) Burgess, Arvil Burgess, and Daniel (Monica) Burgess, and sisters, Mary Etta (Donnie) Bouldin, Delilah (Larry) Watson, and Zodell Jones. Many nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday in McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Dean Northcutt will officiate. Interment will follow at Bascom Cemetery. The Burgess family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 8 p.m., and again Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
