Cora Elizabeth Foster Stembridge of McMinnville died Sunday, October 2.

Cora Elizabeth Foster Stembridge, 97, of McMinnville died Sunday, Oct. 2, at her residence.
She was born July 17, 1919 in Warren County, had previously worked for Formfit Rogers, was a lifelong homemaker, and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ. Cora was Christian and loved reading the Bible, growing vegetables and flowers, cooking, and making garments for children and adults. She was affectionately known as “Granny” and “MeMa” by grandchildren and others who knew her.
Mrs. Stembridge was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Lawrence and Hattie Elizabeth Denton Foster, husband John E. Stembridge, grandchildren Christopher Louis Davidson, Nancy Lynn Davidson, Shawn Charisse Holland, and Billy Wayne “Willie” Stembridge Jr., brothers and sisters-in-law Euclid (Nona) Foster, Howard (Evaline and Agness) Foster and Lloyd (Clydie) Foster, and sister and brother-in-law Cloa (Frank) Cantrell.
Survivors include her two sons Billy Wayne (Pat) Stembridge of Florence, Ala., and Dennis Stembridge of Cookeville; two daughters Grace (Don) Davidson of Manchester and Nancy (Gerald) Holland of Savannah; grandchildren Shane (Jeanean) Holland, Brent (Jennifer) Stembridge, Cynthia Davidson Gwaltney, and Derrick (Julie) Stembridge; great-grandchildren Zachery and Abbie Stembridge, JonBeth Holland, and Cole and Molly Stembridge, and one great-great grandchild Rylan Stembridge. Several nephews and nieces also survive.
Her memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Doug Bost, Tony Lawrence, and Charles Williams officiated. Interment followed at Fuston Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at
