Rock Island resident and Warren County native Charlotte Lee Yates, 64, was born Oct. 14, 1947 and died May 21 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness. A retired employee of Magnetek and member of the First Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith, she was the daughter of the late William James “Buck” and Jessie Ruth Taylor. She was married July 4, 1970 to Merle Eugene “Rowdy” Yates, who preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2011.
