Charles Edward “Shine” Cantrell, 87, of McMinnville, died Friday, Aug.  12, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.
He was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Warren County, was a former employee of Genesco Shoe, retired as a supervisor with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and was a member of Earleyville Church of Christ. Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by parents F.C. and Mirantha Tosh Cantrell, a brother Frank Cantrell and sisters Janie Hale, Clydie Foster and Mary Martin.
Survivors include his wife Lona Cantrell, children Linda Fay (Jack) Jones, Michael Edward (Brenda) Cantrell, Tamy C. Turner and Jason, Joe (Freda) Minge, Terry (Darlene) Minge, and Russell (Leslie) Minge, grandchildren Cyndi (Mark) Vazquez, Robb E. (Carrie) Jones, Tim (Kathy) Cantrell, Shawn (Lori) Cantrell, Kim (Greg) Leja, Ethan Turner, Karagan Turner, Angie Ashford, Timothy (Denise) Minge, Jonathan (Whitney) Minge, Nathan (Sara) Minge and Tara Minge, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug.  16, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Johnny Lance, pastor Michael Cantrell, and pastor Terry Minge officiated. Interment followed at Fuston Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
