McMinnville resident and Warren County native Charles Austin Jones, 95, was born May 6, 1923 and died Aug. 18 at his residence following an extended illness. A quartermaster for the VFW, a United States Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde S. and Johnnie Ida Green Jones Sr. He was married Aug. 3, 1947 to Mildred “Mickey” Imogene Boyd Jones, who preceded him in death Nov. 26, 2008. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Dee Jones and Sutton Jones; sister Dorothy Mullican; and brother Jimmy Jones.
