Charlene Virginia Crouch Hart, 87, of Denver, Colo., died Oct. 9.
She was born Sept. 26, 1930 in Morrison, the daughter of Charles and Aline Crouch. She met her husband of 61 years, Walter G. Hart, in Oak Ridge. She obtained her M.S. from Tennessee Tech and was a teacher in Oak Ridge before she and her husband moved to Colorado where they lived over 50 years. She was multi-talented and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and raising three children. For many years she and her husband, an engineer who worked in solar energy, lived in a partial solar home. Together they maintained beautiful rose beds and flower gardens. Her husband preceded her in death April 9, 2016. Her younger sister, Mary Jo Crouch Boyd, also preceded her in death Dec. 22, 2016, along with husband, Joe T. Boyd in February 2015.
She is survived by her three children, Roger Hart of Houston, Texas, David Hart of Denver and Carolyn Hart of London, England as well as granddaughter, Nikki Hart of Houston; nieces and nephews including Charles Boyd of Manchester, Bill Boyd and Mary Kate Boyd of Smartt and Eleanor and Boyd Bryan of Morrison.
She and her husband’s remains were buried in a private service Nov. 11 at Gardens of Memory, beside her parents, sister and brother-in-law. Donations may be made to Morrison Public Library.
