Beersheba Springs resident and Warren County native Charlene King, 84, was born Oct. 30, 1937 and died Jan. 17 at her daughter’s residence in Beersheba Springs following an extended illness.


A retired employee of the pressing department at Colonial Shirt Factory and a member of the Methodist church, she was the daughter of the late Charlie J. and Ivy Leola Roberts Fults. She was married to Corbet H. King, who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.


Mrs. King is survived by four children, Kenneth (Lorie) King of Beersheba Springs, Judy (Ken) Smith of Beersheba, Anna (Dave) Hobbs and Bettie (Ralph) Rhea, both of Altamont, grandchildren, Glen (Tracy) Jennings, Shane Smith, Gary (Tiffany) Hobbs, Coy (Brandis) King, Corey (Cassie) King, Meleigha Wockason, Mary Ann (Louis) Garcia, Kenneth Ray King, Hayden King, and K-Sun King, great-grandchildren Jonathan (Cecilee) Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Feliciana Hobbs, Hunter Hobbs, Corbet King, Courtney King, Harley King, Alex Garcia, Lyndsey Garcia, and Delilah Wockason, four sisters, one brother, and several nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at High’s Chapel with Gary Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Hunerwadel Cemetery in Grundy County. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www. highfuneralhome.com.
