Smithville resident and DeKalb County native Cecil Edward Judkins, 65, was born Sept. 17, 1950 and died April 1 after an extended illness at St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.He was the son of Margaret Bennett Judkins Bain (Troy) of Smithville and Cecil Herbert Judkins (Dorothy) of Hazel Green, Ala. (former of Keltonburg). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Perry Green and Callie Pinegar Judkins and maternal grandparents, Robert Bennett and Lavonia Martin Bennet Evans (Robert) and brother, Troy Edward Bain.He is survived by sister, Ponzella Judkins Redmon (Dewayne); sons, Jamie Lee Judkins of McMinnville and John Baxter Judkins of Nashville; daughters, Jana Dell Judkins Lance (Troy) and Jeannie Linde Judkins Cook (Rob); grandson, Graedan Judkins of Morrison; several step-grandchildren; nephews, Walter Redmon, T.J. Bain and Dalton Bain, all of Smithville; nieces, Latroya Key of Sparta and Shana Key of Smithville; several great-nieces and nephews.He was a member of the Church of Christ and a graduate of DeKalb County High School. He was a former co-owner of Centertown Market, J&D Hardware and Warren County Speedway.
