McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Carroll Lynn “Bigfoot” Simmons, 72, was born Feb. 15, 1943 and died Sept. 16 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. An employee of Prince & Sons Construction and member of the Non-Denominational Church, he was the son of the late Carroll Edward and Polly Annie Manus Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Jerry Lynn Simmons and brother William Edward Simmons.Mr. Simmons was married Oct. 26, 1963 to Martha Joyce Cox Simmons of McMinnville.
