Carl Vernon Call, 80, a McMinnville resident and Huntington County, Ind., native died March 8 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
He was a retired minister and U.S. Army veteran of 19 years and U.S. Navy veteran of four years, having served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Cloverport Wesleyan Church in Cloverport, Ky., and attended Jesus Name Pentecostal Church. He was the son of the late Elton and Gladys Jackson Call.
Mr. Call was married July 27, 1956 to Betty Dean Young Call, who survives. He is also survived by five children, Tim (Melissa) Call of Pflugerville, Texas; Terry Edward Call and Patricia (Francisco) Garcia of McMinnville; Kathryn (Larry) Belcher of Owensboro, Ky.; Sandra (Barry) Brown of Sturgis, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Rev. Richard (Alene) Call of Sarasota, Fla., and Dean Call of Columbia City, Ind. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held at Mathers Chapel Cemetery in English, Ind. Date and time to be announced.
