Brenda Sue Shockley, 66

Bone Cave resident and Van Buren County native Brenda Sue Shockley, 66, was born Sept. 24, 1948 and died Jan. 1 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Oster Corporation and member of Mt. Elim Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Rube and Myrtle Hillis Yates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Sandra Lynn Shockley.
Mrs. Shockley was married Aug. 15, 1967 to Marvin Shockley of Bone Cave. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Linda (Marlion) Hillis of the Rocky River community and Wanda (Morris) Holt of McMinnville; brother, Jimmy Yates (Donna Walker) of the Rocky River community and sisters-in-law, Melba Slaughter of McMinnville and Sue Shockley of Bone Cave.
Funeral service will be held at noon Sunday in High's Chapel with Willard Ralph Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Long Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High's.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
