Billy Hugh “Bill” McCormick, 78, a Warren County resident and native, was born Dec. 10, 1940 and passed away Sept. 24 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was the owner of Freedom Express and McCormick Warehouse, a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church, and son of the late Lester Washington and Pauline Bouldin McCormick. Mr. McCormick was married July 3, 1959 to Carol Beechum McCormick, who preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2010. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Donnie Ray McCormick and Lewis McCormick.

Survivors include children, Kim (Eastland) Broom of McMinnville, Kirk McCormick (Denise Powers) of Morrison, and Kerrie Owens of McMinnville; grandchildren Amy (Tommy) Pollina, Kirby (Chad) Wilcher, Macy Broom (Nick Loggins), Daniel (Dayron) Owens, Kasey Owens, and Morgan McCormick; great-grandchildren, Locklan Cantrell, Adelyn Pollina and Kyra Wilcher; sisters, Patsy Holt of Morrison and Sharon (David) Holcomb of Morrison, brothers Jerry (Telisa) McCormick of McMinnville and Terry (Candy) McCormick of Morrison, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at High’s Chapel with William Randolph to officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
