Bessie Beatrice Lance, 82, of Morrison died Tuesday, April 5 at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville.
She was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Rutherford County and was a homemaker, and a member of Caney Branch The Baptist Church. Mrs. Lance was preceded in death by parents James William and Sallie Mamie Wells Harvey, husband Eldon Devaughn Lance, son Kenneth Lee Lance Sr., sisters Lucille Thompson, Mary Stewart and Maude Jennings, brothers Ernest and J.W. Harvey, and half-brother Luther Honeycutt.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Peggye Jo and Roger Burks of Morrison; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie D. and Virginia Lance of McMinnville; brothers, Robert Harvey of Morrison, and Bill Harvey of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Tammy Glenn, Eric Lance, Kenneth Lee Lance, Cameron Burks, and Andrena Carter, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder John Gipson and Elder Leonard Herman will officiate. Interment will follow at Caney Branch Cemetery. The Lance family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at
