Bernard Ken Smith, 75, a McMinnville resident and Dayton native died July 17 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a prominent local attorney, U.S. Army veteran and son of the late Kenneth P. and Larnell Wilson Smith and was married to Debra Banks Smith, who preceded him in death Nov. 30, 2014. Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Debby Johnson, Bernard Trey Smith, and Natalie (Matthew) Roberts of McMinnville and Ashley (Gary) Cunningham of Ormand Beach, FL; grandchildren, Eli Smith, Jared Johnson, Alex Sellers, Cassandra Hill, Ben Johnson, Madison Grace Jones and Aubree Layne Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Halie Hill, Jolene Sellers and Ember Smith; sister, Nancy (Powell) Wallace of McMinnville.
