Arlene Denton George, 89, of McMinnville died Tuesday, May 30, at NHC Health Care Center in McMinnville. She was born April 13, 1928, in White County, was a retired employee of Genesco Shoe Company and was notably known for her business called The Lunch Basket in Centertown. Mrs. George was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ at Centertown, Centertown CIC, and was preceded in death by her parents, Barlow and Flossie Whiteaker Denton, her oldest son, Dannye Ray George, and was the last survivor of 10 siblings.
