Alvia Foutch “Al” Parker Jr., 91, of Cedar Grove community, died Wednesday, March 16, at Raintree Manor in McMinnville following extended Illness.
He was born Friday, April 25, 1924 in McMinnville and was the son of the late Alvia Parker Sr. and Pauline Claborne Parker. He was retired from Genesco. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 5064 in Warren County.
He is survived by his wife, Vida Pearl Parker of Cedar Grove; son James Allan Parker and wife Ann of Spencer; sister Barbara Tyler and husband Toby of Waxahacher, Texas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Audie Dean Parker; brother, James R. Parker; two sisters, Evelyn Pantle, Wallene Tucker; and sister-in-law, Charlene Parker.
 A graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crain Hill Cemetery with the Bob McCoy and Joe McCormick officiating. Interment will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Spencer. Military honors will be administered by the VFW Post 5064 and the American Legion Post 173. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home.
