OBIT - Alvie Brown
Alvia Brown Jr., 79, a Morrison resident and Cannon County native, was born April 30, 1938 and died Dec. 13 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was a retired employee of Century, member of the Church of Christ and son of the late Alvia and Florine Locke Brown Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Helen Brown, Mary Elizabeth Dillard, Jennie Mae Peppers and Margie Josephine Brown; brother Joe Louis Brown; paternal grandparents, Columbus and Lena Mitchell Brown; and maternal grandparents, Harry and Hattie King Locke. Mr. Brown is survived by three daughters and spouses, Brenda and Chris Purcell of Painesville Township, Ohio, Margie Brown and Sam of Murfreesboro, and Mary Brown and fiancé Jarvis Flynn of Antioch; three sons, Jerry Brown of Painesville Township, Sonny Brown of Murfreesboro and Waymon Brown and fiancée Brandi Jenkins of Smyrna; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Cummings and Annie Ruth Brown, both of Woodbury, and Jesse Louise Brown and Betty Sue Brown, both of McMinnville; brother and spouse, Fred William and Joan Brown of Viola; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 16, at High’s Chapel with Paul Elam officiating.
