Alexander Bendyna Sr., 85, of McMinnville died Friday, July 31 at TVHS/Nashville VA Campus in Nashville. He was born March 25, 1930 in Merchantville, N.J., and was a retired Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Air Force and a member of People of the Living God Church. Mr. Bendyna was preceded in death by parents George and Michelina Ryback Bendyna Sr. and siblings Alfred Chmieleski, Lillian Piersantti, George Bendyna Jr., Constantine Bendyna, and Mary O’Connell.Survivors include his wife, Mary Magdalena Sansom Bendyna; children, Alexander (Shirley) Bendyna Jr., Mary Bendyna, Janett Eckard, David (Tina) Southerland, and Katherina (Ivan) Kacic; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Abate, and brother, Harry (Carol) Bendyna.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at People of the Living God Church.
