Don’t miss your chance to go “Into the Woods” with Warren Arts and witness Tyler Morton’s directorial debut at this upcoming production.
The musical is about classic storybook characters coming together and creating a story we were never told. This Tony Award-winning book and score are both magical and touching. It takes well-known storybook characters and brings them together for a timeless, relevant, classic story.
“‘Into the Woods’ is a musical that is about fairy tale characters we all know but in a story you haven’t heard. It’s a musical adventure romance comedy with high stakes,” said Morton.
The story follows a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child, Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them.
Morton is usually the one on stage, but this time he is in the director’s chair. This is the first show he has ever directed and he says the cast has helped him out a lot.
Morton says it is tough to pick his favorite part of the show, but he does enjoy watching the talented cast.
“My favorite part of the show is so hard to pick with all the twists and turns this show has. I’d say as the director my favorite part of the show is seeing how each person brings their characters to life every time they hit the stage. It’s a not-to-miss show for sure,” said Morton.
The cast is full of Warren Arts regulars. Cast members include Simone O’Dell-Woods, Ted Woods, Melissa Pyburn, Allie Morton, Kennette Dixon, Kaden Hobbs, Meah Sewell, Kendyn Brock, Carter Cantrell, Sofia Womack, McKenna Proffitt, Helena Kinese, Kimberly Phillips-Hunt, Tara Austin, Jana Denning, Twana Brock, Dara Johnson, and Kenny Johnson.
