Smith seeks craft supplies

Miss McMinnville’s Outstanding Teen Anna Grace Smith is putting her title to work by holding a craft supply drive in the area. Her goal is to make hospital-room fun bags for patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Memphis hospital is recognized for its treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
Smith won the title of Outstanding Teen in the August pageant held locally under the direction of Susan Burks. She will be competing on the state level in March at a competition in Jackson as part of the Miss Tennessee/Miss America system. The teenager resides in Smyrna, and her pageant platform is Queens for a Cure.
She is hoping the community will step up to assist in the cause by donating crayons, markers, construction paper, coloring books or stickers. The bags will be organized and given to young patients.
She asks the items be placed in Ziplock bags and dropped off at Merle Norman Cosmetics in Plaza Shopping Center from Jan. 12 – 30.
