The holiday season kicks off in Rock Island in style, with a Christmas Open House Nov. 14-15 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days.
Four area businesses are opening their doors with holiday flair, hoping visitors will visit and get in the holiday spirit. The Rustic Touch, Knot A Clue, The Lazy Daisy, and the Rock Island Depot will all participate in the event.
As its name implies, The Rustic Touch has many rustic items for the home. Antiques, local wood crafts, ironwork, florals, loomed linens, primitives, crocks and soy candles are available to shoppers. Rock Island pottery mugs, local photography and lighting items are also featured. During the open house, refreshments will be provided, and a 10 percent discount on Christmas décor.
Knot A Clue has what-nots and know-not-whats, but also showcases antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, hand-crafted wood items including beautiful ink pens, bird houses, locally made pottery and other interesting items. During the Christmas Open House, they will have refreshments and 10 – 50 percent discount off certain items throughout the store.
Rock Island Depot is situated in the historic train depot, and has unique antiques, collectibles, books, vintage kitchen/cookware, Coca-Cola collectibles and much more. They also offer a great look at some old items found in the depot during renovation of the building, as well as a collection of old pictures of Rock Island. During the Christmas Open House, they will also have refreshments and discounted prices on most everything in the shop.
The Lazy Daisy has over 20 booths to choose from. With everything from homemade goodies to handcrafted walking sticks, antiques, collectibles, homemade candies, jams and breads, painted furniture, photography, quilts, lace runners, handmade jewelry, goats milk soaps and lotions and so much more, it’s a shopper’s paradise. The Lazy Daisy will also have refreshments and some sale items throughout the store.
