NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — There's a new baby at the Nashville Zoo, a male Masai giraffe borne to Margarita.

Margarita and the calf will be outside in the habitat on July 25, and the zoo will launch a naming contest then.

Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite of three names, by donating a pair of old blue jeans. The names are Mkali, Swahili for "bright"; Mahali, Swahili for "spot"; and Enzi, Swahili for "powerful."

The donations will be sent to Jeans for Giraffes, which recycles denim into home insulation with proceeds benefiting giraffe conservation projects in Africa. Voting ends Aug. 31.

The new baby was born July 9.
