R. Fred Goodwin will be presenting a tribute to Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers March 4 at Morrison Public Library. The event is free and guests are encouraged to come in Western wear.

A rootin’ tootin’ time is planned March 4 at the Morrison Public Library at its third annual Hear Tell Storytelling Fest.
According to library director Bonnie Davis, R. Fred Goodwin will be on hand with a Roy Rogers and Sons of the Pioneers Tribute. During his long association with the Sons of the Pioneers, Goodwin has amassed an extensive collection of the group’s recordings, photographs, films, movie posters and memorabilia.
The program starts at 10 a.m. and is free to the public. Keeping with the Western theme, guests are encouraged to come in their Western wear. Cowboy hats, boots, Western shirts, and belt buckles are all suggested.
Adding to the fun, Davis is also asking visitors to share photos of people in their first cowboy or cowgirl outfit.
“Anyone who had watched these westerns as a child, it might me a time to get reacquainted with the characters from that time,” said Davis.
The Morrison Public Library is located at 138 West Maple Street in Morrison. Regular hours are 1 - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month. Davis can be reached at 931-635-2060; or morrisonlibrary@blomand.net.
