Miss McMinnville organizes event to benefit Children's Miracle Network
Anna Grace Smith is ready for a summer day with her shirt with built in SPF, comfy shorts and sandals perfect for either water or walking.

For a fun afternoon of fashion and fundraising, Miss McMinnville Shayla Sanderson invited businesses and friends to be part of Fashion for a Cause. As the name implies, the fashion show benefited the Children’s Miracle Network.
Sanderson will be competing in the Miss Tennessee competition June 23-24 in Jackson representing McMinnville.
“My director, Susan Burks, and I thought this would be a good way to get both individuals and businesses involved for a good cause,” said Sanderson.
Following the presentation of spring fashions, the girls enjoyed a Princess Tea with Sanderson and other royal guests.
Models of assorted ages took to the stage sporting both casual and formal wear. Everything from swim trunks to pageant gowns were presented by Tennessee businesses.
According to fashion designers, summer fashions will feature some bold prints, more frills and romantic lace and bright colors, but with a touch of minimalism.
For the casual, everyday look, models sported tops with built in SPF protection of wicking material created to help stay cool and durable shorts that can be worn as swimming trunks. The outfits were completed with protective hats and durable sandals perfect for days outside.
Children’s trends include pretty patterns, hipster formal, denim, fringe and lots of sunshine yellow.
Model Isabella Figuerua sported the trends with denim-fringed shorts, a sassy bohemian top and Roman sandals.
Track pants are the “in” item to replace sweats. They can be either dressed up or can be worn to the gym. Working mom Emily Britton shared her favorite fashion style, joggers topped with a light jacket and casual athletic shoes.
Fashion continues on the pageant runway as well as at formal occasions where specific qualities are required. Styles can be either short and flirty, floor length, or even a combination with a short dress underneath a flowing skirt that can be removed.
Reigning Fairest of the Fair Arianna Lusk rocked the style on the runway, as well as her sister LaBraya who chose a blush high/low dress with floral embroidery.
Fashion is an avenue for individuals to express their personality. With the styles for the upcoming season bright and sassy, it’s going to be a fun summer.
