The wedding ceremony of Jessica Leigh Elkins and Tucker Blair Higgins was solemnized June 7 in a ceremony held at Mt. Leo Church of Christ. The 6 p.m. nuptials were officiated by Kenneth Mears.
The bride is the daughter of Rickey and Beth Elkins. Her grandparents are Gordon and Jane Cantrell, Bonnie Elkins Prater, and the late Lane Elkins. Mona Rader is her great-grandmother.
Mr. Higgins is the son of Danny and Lisa Higgins. He is the grandson of Iva Higgins, the late Murf Higgins, Kay Grider, and Bill Grider.
The guest registry was attended by the bride’s cousin Lauren Cantrell.
The church sanctuary held a backdrop of burlap and pale pink tulle. A burlap aisle runner lined the bridal path, and pink tulle bows lined each aisle. The couple stood in front of a candle tree lit with tea lights.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father. She wore a taffeta gown featuring a pick-up swirl skirt and empire waist with beaded appliqué detailing and ruching. It had sheer cap sleeves with beaded trim, and a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of white and soft pink hydrangeas, and pink and white roses.
Holly Luna attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cassie Hutchins, Katie Mitchell and Virginia Prater. They each wore knee-length dresses in a soft pink, and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas.
Caitlin Scoggins of Dayton was the flower girl. She was attired in a white lace dress with a pink sash, and carried a basket of pink rose petals.
Reagen Hitchcock and Eli Sain, cousins of the bride, were the ring bearers.
Danny Higgins was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Matt Cowan, Johnathon Green and Heath Higgins. Colby Elkins, the bride’s brother, was the wedding usher.
A reception was given in the couple’s honor, and hosted by the bride’s parents. Guest tables were covered in burlap and pink tablecloths, and held pink and white hydrangea arrangements in Mason jars. Guests enjoyed pink lemonade served from a glass dispenser.
A three-tiered white frosted cake was accented with burlap ribbon surrounding each layer, with pink roses. The confection was nestled on a wooden slab, and topped with a rustic silver “H” topper.
The groom’s cake was chocolate, featuring initials in white, and strawberries and chocolate drizzle. It was sitting on a glass situated on top of a rustic tree stump.
Reception servers were Lori Cantrell, Mattie Cantrell, Mollie Cantrell, Allison Cantrell and Katie Sain.
As the couple left the reception for their honeymoon in Panama City, Fla., sky lanterns were lit and sent up in the air with well wishes for the couple. They are making their home in Morrison.
