A July 4 exhibit featuring creations of 93-year-old quilter Minnie Lee Deakins is being presented at the Morrison Public Library during the annual Independence Day celebration.The exhibit will showcase a collection of Deakins’ mini patriotic quilt pieces, which are each works of art. She has been quilting for as long as she remembers, piecing her first one before starting school. Over the many years, she has worked with Home Demonstration Clubs, the UT Extension service, and the Heritage Skills Workshop.
