Watch local stars shine in Cannon Arts Dance Studio’s 2016 recital, “Starry, Starry Night” on Jan. 23 at the Park Theater, starting at 2 p.m. Vincent Van Gogh’s immortal painting of the same name is among one of the many classic works of art that have inspired the recital dances this year. Other famous paintings such as Grant Wood’s “American Gothic,” da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” and Degas’ “The Rehearsal,” serve as inspiration to the 75 dancers in the production.“This theme is one of our most beautiful and sophisticated yet,” stated Lori Christensen, better know as Ms. California, owner of the studio. Each painting will be displayed in the theater, as the dances are performed on stage whether they be ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary or clogging.
