Centertown School recently held its annual fall festival as hundreds of people attended the event enjoying food, fun, games and prizes, all for a good cause.“It’s the only fundraiser we do and it’s usually very successful,” said Centertown principal Pam Cowan. “We usually net around $21,000.”Cowan said the parents, teachers and students at Centertown Elementary are the ones responsible for the success of the annual event. This year’s festival began at 5 p.m. with a BBQ supper donated by Prater’s BBQ.“He (Prater) grew up in this community and every year he donates the BBQ for our event,” Cowan said of Gary Prater. “That helps us tremendously to make those extra funds.”Along with the meal, the school’s teachers, along with their students, organize games in each of the classrooms.
