Brown, Reel marry in Knoxville

Karlyn Melinda Brown and Jacob Stephen Reel were united in marriage on March 3 at The Press Room in Knoxville. The 5 p.m. nuptials were officiated by Ryan Wiggins.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Karen Brown of Walling. She is the granddaughter of Larry and the late Celia Brown of Walling, and Mike and Kay Detwiler of Cookeville.

Jacob is the son of Mike Reel, and Marcia Reel, both of Cookeville. His grandparents are Charles and the late Carolyn Butler of Cookeville, John and Melba Hargis of Pikeville, and the late J.C. Reel.
Music for the event was provided by Music City Rhythm Revue of Nashville.

The bride was escorted by her father, and was resplendent in a floor-length fitted gown with an illusion neckline. The creation was complimented with a long tulle train. She carried a bouquet of garden roses, eucalyptus, succulents, cotton and assorted greenery.

Jennifer Thomas was chosen as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alana Newson, Kaylee Daughrity, Grace Powell, Julie Brooks, Brooke Miller, Devon Aeschlimann, Jade McWhorter, Hannah Linton, and sisters of the groom Megan Reel and Caroline Reel.

Flower girls were Mary Katherine Detwiler, the bride’s cousin; and Kylee and Marlee Pace, cousins of the groom.
Ben Reel, brother of the groom; and Levi Detwiler were chosen to be ring bearers.

Jake Powell of Nashville was honored as the best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Weaver, Jonathan Wilhite, Dustin Thomas, Wade Tribble, Alex Bear, Zach Gutzman, Alex Chaffin, Jonathan Rochelle, and brothers of the bride, Michael Brown and Jake Brown. 

A reception honoring the couple was held at The Press Room. They were joined by 300 guests for dinner from Café 4.

The wedding cake was a three-tiered white cake with white icing. It was topped fresh roses and greenery. Assorted donuts were also enjoyed.

The new Mrs. Reel is a 2015 University of Tennessee graduate, and is employed at YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley as director of public relations. Her husband is a Tennessee Tech University graduate, and is employed as an account manager at West Rock.

Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple are residing in Knoxville.
