Hazardous waste collection set

Residents who have accumulated unwanted hazardous materials around their homes can take advantage of Tennessee’s free Household Hazardous Waste Collection to be held Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Three Star Mall. Household hazardous waste is defined as corrosive, flammable, toxic or reactive materials used in or around your home or garage that are no longer wanted or have become unusable. These types of materials should be properly disposed of -- not included with regular garbage. The state will have a household hazardous waste mobile collection site set up in the mall parking lot which will allow local homeowners to safely dispose of these items.
