Man gets month for kicking dad in face

A man has been sentenced to a month in jail for kicking his father in the face with a pair of steel-toed boots. The man, Robert B. Roddey, 31, was directed by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to serve 30 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and to attend anger management classes on the reduced charge of simple assault. He was originally charged with aggravated assault which carries three to six years in prison. He was additionally given 30 more days to serve for violation of probation.
