Man falls from moving mini-van

A man fell out of a moving vehicle Monday when he threw open the door during an argument with his girlfriend.
The man, Marvin Clark, 25, was airlifted from the scene to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga by AirEvac helicopter. Clark, who was conscious and talking to investigators after the accident, was treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The accident happened Monday afternoon on Great Falls Road in Rock Island after Clark and his girlfriend were backseat passengers in his mother’s AeroStar van.
“From his statement, he and his girlfriend were having an argument and he was wanting to disassociate himself from the situation,” said Trooper Bruce Pryor, revealing Clark reached over and opened the sliding side door of the mini-van with intentions to get out of the moving vehicle. “At some point he changed his mind, but his foot slipped.”
Clark ended up hitting the pavement as the van was traveling about 25 mph.
