A night of romance set for Thursday

Celebrate Valentine’s Day by taking a stroll in historic downtown McMinnville and enjoying a carriage ride, dinner, movie and live music. Downtown by Moonlight will be held tomorrow from 6 to 10 p.m.
“We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy our beautiful downtown on Valentine’s night,” said Main Street McMinnville executive director Carla King. “Bring your sweetheart or bring the kids and enjoy a fun carriage ride around Court Square or a nice dinner and free entertainment.”
Carriage rides begin at 6 p.m. and will be sponsored by Dr Pepper. A $5 donation is requested. Flowers and photos will be offered to commemorate the event.
Dinner and entertainment will be offered at both Collin’s River BBQ and Main Street Bakery. Not hungry? Stop by Highland Rim Music and Art for live entertainment.
Buy your Valentine a flower on Main Street and have a Valentine portrait taken. Flowers on Main will be stationed in front of the Chamber of Commerce.
Warren County Heritage Museum will be showing a movie and offering free tours by Heritage Alliance. On the agenda is “Love Me Tender,” a 1956 American black-and-white CinemaScope motion picture. The movie features Elvis Presley in his film debut.
With support from downtown businesses, this is the fourth year Main Street McMinnville has been able to offer Downtown by Moonlight.
“We want to thank Dr Pepper for sponsoring the carriage ride, Heritage Alliance for opening the museum and the Chamber of Commerce for use of their beautiful Community Room,” said King. “Main Street McMinnville is so blessed to have such wonderful partners in bringing events to downtown.”
Various shops will be open for individuals who want to shop for a unique gift, jewelry, candy, flowers or gift certificates.
