Prominent local businessman dies

Prominent businessman and golf enthusiast Maurice Burger, 65, died Tuesday at St. Thomas Hospital following a brief battle with cancer.
 Burger was the owner of Exchange Furniture Company and Burger’s Custom Golf. He was a United States Army veteran who served his country during Vietnam.
 Burger worked at Exchange Furniture, which started business in 1935, after returning from the Army and he purchased the company in 1983. The store became a family business with Burger’s wife, Sandra, son, Chad and daughter-in-law, Marcie working there daily.
