Roberta Pauline Looney, 81

Roberta Pauline Looney, 81, of the Johnson’s Chapel community of DeKalb County died Thursday at NHC of Smithville.
A homemaker, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Looney; parents, Claude and Bessie Swindell Collins; and sister and brother, Elsie Jo Snodgrass and Harold Collins.
Survivors include five children, Lana Paulette Green of Dalton, Ga.; James Randall and wife Sherry Looney of Knoxville; Denise Barlow of Cookeville; Claudia Michelle Maynard of Sparta; and Armenta and husband Jerry Pollard of Smithville; five grandchildren, Amanda Phillips of Dalton, Ga., Michael Randall Looney of Knoxville, Kyle Matthew and wife Saraya Anderson of Kentucky, Alex Reece Pollard of Smithville, and Hope Marie Maynard of Sparta; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Reece Phillips, Madison Danielle Phillips, and Mia Callie Phillips; and sister, Florence Elmore of Sparta.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Johnson’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member. Garry Farris will officiate and burial will follow at Johnson’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Family and friends will gather at the church on Saturday at 2 p.m.
