Fire chief submits resignation

After seven months on the job as McMinnville’s fire chief, Randy Walker will say farewell to the city today.
“I have submitted my resignation,” said Walker. “I appreciate the opportunity I was given to serve this wonderful city, but I have been offered and have accepted the position as fire chief with the town of Palm Beach Shores in Florida.”
Walker was hired by the city March 26 after an extensive search and interview process. He came from Statesboro, Ga., and will be taking over the reins of his new fire department Nov. 15.
